Philosophy

Musical training must be comprehensive and cannot be restricted to studying the technique of an instrument. The development of auditory acuity and other skills is something that needs regular training. Improvement of critical, musical taste and skills for efficient and promising training are essential.

Therefore, in addition to the instrument, we try to guide the listening of important works in the repertoire. And the theory, which in reality is something essentially practical, goes beyond the knowledge and use of musical notation, it is necessary to encourage and always practice its use and application where each element is mastered bringing consistent results.

Dynamic and gradual, tailored and personalized teaching, focusing on the development of auditory perception, coordination, concentration, mastery of musical notation and instrumental technique, must always be at the service of music.

Online Classes

We have been teaching remotely for over a decade. With a good internet connection they work exceptionally well. All you need is a computer or cell phone with a camera and microphone, the latter with a small tripod for fixing and framing, good lighting and enough space for some distance from the camera. The place must be silent, making classes even more similar to face-to-face ones.

Today, with the development of quality videoconferencing applications especially for music, distance classes have become a precious and practical resource. They favor regularity, avoid wasting time on tiring journeys, thus allowing quality classes anywhere with these conditions.

I'm a complete beginner, can I take the classes?

For sure! Our classes are personalized and tailored to each student, regardless of their level of prior knowledge.

What is the duration of the full course?

The duration of the course is very variable. It depends on prior knowledge, the student's facilities and difficulties, objectives, and commitment and regularity in studies. Classes are personalized and progress follows the student's performance.

Is the quality of the distance course equivalent to the face-to-face course?

Yes. The only difference between the two is the means by which the communication takes place. The teachers, the duration of the class and the method of work are the same.

Do I have to accept a contract?

Yes. Our contract lasts for 1 year, being renewed automatically if the student wishes to continue his studies. If the student withdraws from the course, informing the desire for termination within the first 30 days after acceptance of the contract, there is no fine. After that period, the fine is 50% of the monthly fee.

Can I test before enrolling?

We offer a free online interview so you can test your connection, talk to the professor, ask questions and learn more about how the course works.

How do distance courses work?

Classes are 100% online and LIVE. They are not recordings. They happen once a week via Skype, Hangouts, FaceTime or similar. It is necessary to have an internet connection of at least 5 megabytes of speed, a cell phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone and a support, in the case of a cell phone or tablet. The student needs to be in a quiet, peaceful and well-lit place, where there is no transit of other people during the class. For instrument lessons, a slightly more spacious place is needed so that the camera can frame the entire student.

Are the courses recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education?

No, CMBB is an Open Courses school. We offer a certificate detailing the contents covered during the student's stay in our course.
